The Role
Labviva is a fast-paced venture-funded company developing innovative procurement solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Our solutions are used by some of the largest and most innovative Pharmaceutical companies to discover, evaluate and purchase scientific reagents and equipment. In order to provide rich scientific content for proper evaluation, our technical team works to implement NLP-driven systems that capture and process peer-reviewed scientific papers, technical specifications and other data.

Overview of the work
This role will be help Labviva process and curate large volumes of data pertaining to scientific materials. You will work closely with the lead developer to gain domain-knowledge of product information management within the vibrant life-sciences industry. As you and the company grow you may have the opportunity to assume a more active role in evolving the back-end software and maintaining scalability.
Responsibilities
Be part of a team to implement and integrate various API, micro-services, and databases.
You will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and troubleshooting various mission-critical back-end data-flow processes related to adding, enriching and updating product data and pricing.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent real-world experience
- 3 years professional experience as a Software Developer
Experience and skill in:
- Language experience with Node.js
- Experience with spidering, automated data cleanup and headless browsers
- Databases systems: primarily MS-SQL but also MySQL and MongoDB
- eCommerce Design Patterns and Development
- QA background a plus
- Language experience with C# & PHP a plus, but not required
Data-integrity and data-quality is central to the business. This position requires someone who is:
- highly detail-oriented
- able to proactively identify and correct data errors along the chain
- follows sensitive procedures reliably and consistently
- Demonstrate familiarity with modern development tools and workflows such as Agile/Sprint/Best Practices, dependency management, build automation, CI/CD, QA testing, Git branching, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experiences with life sciences industry practices a plus, but not required
