Product Manager

SmartServ(www.smartserv.io) is a product startup from the house of award-winning SaaS business solutions. SmartServ's founding team consists of UW Madison, UC Berkeley alumni with strong-domain knowledge having built top-notch products and implementing them at Fortune 500 companies.

SmartServ is on a mission to build a powerful AI-powered assistant enabling service business' to focus and increase their sales metrics by scoring on lead opportunities which are ideally lost in the field. We are constantly mining recommendations to help service contractors gain efficiency and helping them spend more time in front of customers, not computers. Our customers stay in control of their business and have visibility into the most important data and metrics required and we give them insights to do more. At SmartServ, we aren’t a company of silos. We are in the hunt for someone who is Entrepreneurial, Self-starter, and has the capability to continuously drive our impressive growth, we are seeking to add a Product champion to our team. We are seeking a professional, responsible for driving our Product and Engineering Project efforts.

**@Smartserv, you will: **

1. Establish our technical vision and lead all aspects of our Product development
2. Take ownership of the end-to-end availability and performance of our product
3. Prepare technology strategy and design the solutions for scalability keeping in mind all present and future requirements as per company’s budget
4. Check the feasibility of new features, break them down and define deadlines for their delivery
5. Work hand in hand with our founder and core-leadership team, and will play a key role in defining our product excellence culture, shaping our product, and building our business.
6. Bring to the table, sound technical judgment that transcends specific technologies, along with an uncanny ability to solve the hardest problems.

Organization skills – You need to multitask and organize both your time and the schedule of the project, as you’ll often work on various projects and with multiple people at once. Strong organization skills are a must to ensure that all tasks are completed to the appropriate deadline.

Process-oriented approach – You will create effective processes to improve team efficiency and make sure the team’s workload is divided fairly

Business acumen – Keen understanding of what to do in a hard situation, as each project will have unforeseen circumstances or challenges that will be unique. This requires adjusting and knowing what options are available to implement the appropriate plan changes.

Problem-solving skills – If issues arise between teams or within the project, you must find solutions and liaise with team members/customers to quickly mitigate these challenges, so they don’t affect project outcomes.

How would your typical week look like,

1. Working with the teams to plan, manage and update product work plan, deliverables and timeline as part of the defined Release Lifecycle and Gating process.
2. Work with the customers to create OKRs and track progress.
3. Tracking & assessing product progress and risk management.
4. Addressing challenges and controlling deliverables according to the work plan and defined quality parameters to the internal team and implement the changes.
5. Working with the development and Quality Assurance teams, synchronizing and integrating projects by removing release level impediments before deploying.
6. Collect and analyze feedback from Customers and provide insights, raise flags and periodically present status to management.
7. Lead the release retrospectives process: Aggregate the retrospectives from the teams and Release level retrospective, including summon, facilitate, summarize, publish and follow-up on the raised issues and ensure continuous improvement.

Must-Have Experience:

1. A start-up mentality with a bias to action and the ability to flex in a fast-paced environment
2. BE/B.Tech in computer science or related technical field
   
3. Have relevant experience of 3-5 years
4. Enjoy talking about technical concepts, have great analytical skills, and would be comfortable explaining how SmartServ works to a range of audiences
5. Can empathize with users and quickly grasp the issues they’re facing
6. Enjoy solving open-ended problems
7. Excited by working with a product that is constantly evolving
8. Own end-to-end deliverables and release of product features
9. Strong sense of prioritization in terms of handling Issues and tasks
