The Role

Oceanit is a mind to market company that develops new breakthrough technologies and brings them to market. The part-time (30 hours/week), temporary Technical Sales support position is for Oceanit’s Houston, TX office where Oceanit is launching a new product for heat exchangers including a nano composite surface treatment for heat exchangers that increases performance, reduces downtime, and reduces the environmental impact via lower CO2 emissions. These technologies are already being used by a number of power plants and refineries around the world.

The Value You Deliver:

  • Proactively promote Heat exchanger technologies to new potential customers with a mission to broaden the customer base.
  • Responsible for cold-calling/developing new business leads.
  • Provide smooth transition of accounts to the sales support staff through effective internal communications and proper documentation
  • Develop business from prospecting new businesses, following up on marketing leads, as well as expanding business from the company’s existing client base.
  • Learn on the fly: understand the technology, how it works, and communicate its value to potential customers.
  • Develop customer relationships including but not limited to sales leads, research, cold calling, qualifying leads, developing leads and customer service.
  • Build effective long-term working relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Assist customers by providing technical support, identifying needs and supplying information related to samples, specifications, quotes, delivery dates, etc.
  • Develop pipeline of new opportunities in CRM database to sustain continued growth in territory.

The Expertise We're Looking For:

  • BS degree, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Material Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or similar
  • Technical Aptitude with the ability to successfully educate and sell Industrial products and services
  • At least 2 years of technical sales experience
  • Willingness to travel
  • Superior technical communication and organizational skills; natural willingness and comfort with ‘cold-calling’
