The Role

The Hackathon Sponsorship Sales Rep is the person that arranges sponsorships for hackathons that we hold and sells our hackathon management services to companies seeking to host their own events. This person is a leader, self-starter, and motivated individual that seeks success, can work with minimum supervision, and above all, enjoys selling.

Responsibilities:
• generate new business by selling event sponsorships to support upcoming hackathons
• generate new business by selling our management services to potential hackathon hosts
• research and target companies that are a great fit
• create and manage a pipeline of prospects
• prospect anywhere and everywhere including events, social media, and networking opportunities
• qualify leads, determine their viability and readiness to become a sponsor
• build strong relationships with prospects to move them through the sales funnel
• provide ongoing updates on prospects in the pipeline
• compose e-mails, arrange and execute calls and meetings as necessary
• track and document all calls/appointments in a CRM database
• articulate the benefits of hackathon sponsorship
• listen carefully to prospect’s signals and overcome sales objections
• convert prospect to customers by CLOSING THE SALE
• develop, grow and maintain client relationships
• keep up to date on hackathons happening in key markets

Requirements
• a minimum of three years of B2B sales experience (five+ preferred)
• demonstrable cold calling and prospecting expertise
• demonstrable negotiation and closing skills
• demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas
• the ability to present, write, and articulate a compelling narrative
• charismatic, well presented, and expressive
• strong organizational and time management skills
• high-energy, strong work ethic, and self-starter
• the ability to hit the ground running and close sales quickly
• a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
