Enterprise Software Engineer

INTRODUCTION

Pand.ai Pte. Ltd. is a premier AI chatbot developer for financial institutions in Southeast Asia. It currently serves a number of Fortune 500 companies such as UBS, Schroders, Allianz and Tokio Marine across Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
Pand.ai was started in July 2016 by a MIT-trained Digital Head from Standard Chartered and an award-winning adjunct lecturer in Machine Learning from NUS (National University of Singapore), Pand.ai is probably the only one-stop shop that help you create award-winning AI chatbots for financial services – from conceptualizing, designing, data cleaning, developing, testing and even running the live bot post-production.
We're looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team of disparate experts, graduated from MIT, Cambridge, Wharton, NUS and NTU. Your skills contribute to the success of our product and enable us to create the perfect AI Chatbot. This job will be based in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Software Engineer to develop and maintain scalable products to serve millions of users. You will help to design functional and intuitive features that address the needs of our users, as well as craft a visual identity for our products.

As this is a start-up environment, we move fast and team members need to be able to make decisions and problem solve without excessive hand holding.

This role has tremendous growth potential. You will be exposed to all aspects of our operations, and play a vital role in growing the business. There will be many opportunities to learn about both business and technical aspects, in a field that is at the cutting edge of technology. Your role will evolve over time depending on your strengths.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work alongside clients and internal team to design, iterate through, and develop new products for the company
• Maintain existing products, which involves building features, enhancing existing features, improving performance, etc.
• Develop and conduct unit tests
• Deployment of software onto various cloud platforms and ensuring server stability
• Write supporting technical and/or business documentation

REQUIREMENTS

• Proven programming skills, particularly in Python
• Demonstrated experience in developing software / web applications on a larger scale
• Experience with AWS and DevOps
• Experience with Unit Testing
• Experience with version control (Git) and Linux
• Possess user empathy in order to design intuitive experiences
• Ability to communicate well with clients
• Interest in Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence or Natural Language Processing (Domain expertise is a bonus but not required)
