Lead Developer

We are looking for a lead developer to join us on our mission to build the largest funding platform dedicated to underrepresented entrepreneurs. We’ve deployed close to £1 million of our own capital into this market backing some of the UK’s most successful underrepresented entrepreneurs and are now on a mission to leverage the data, relationships and new technologies such as open banking and more to change the way these entrepreneurs raise finance for good.

As our lead developer you’ll be in charge of helping us bring our vision to life from a tech perspective - managing and leading on everything website, MVPs and dev ops related. Whilst working with our product lead and strategic third party partners to bring to life joint ventures we are working on as part of our long term vision.

[WHAT WE WANT IN RETURN]

Someone who’s super passionate and driven by the problem we are solving and supporting marginalised communities.
Someone who can demonstrate they’ve built slick customer facing products and all the other things listed below:

• A design-conscious approach, and enthusiasm, is a plus - UX is important for us
• Prior finance and Startup Experience a plus - prior Fintech Startup = best.
• Have experience developing in a modern front-end framework
• Familiar with database integration and efficient use,
• Can translate technical concepts for, and communicate with, the wider team
• Someone who can code in the following languages: HTML, CSS, JS - PHP/ Python is a plus
• Deep passion for supporting marginalised communities.
• Understanding of other disciplines like management, product development, marketing etc.
• Extensive industry knowledge with an eye towards the future.

[WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY]

• Collaborating with team members to define features (consumer/ internal) for the web application.
• Aiding in project scoping, budgeting, and delivery timelines.
• Ensuring that the technological resources meet the company's short and long-term needs.
• Maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and aiding in the delivery of tech projects to market.
• Staying on top of technology trends and developments.
• Ensuring all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
• Be ready for anything – as a member of an early-stage company, you’ll get involved in a wide range of challenges you wouldn’t find at other companies.

[WHO WE ARE]

A highly motivated founding team with years of experience within fintechs across both the UK and Asia who are currently seeking to solve some of the biggest problems in the financial world. Till date we’ve bootstrapped and have intentions to build out a team, raise our seed round and roll out a number of products next year.

[NICE TO HAVE’S]

Technical capabilities:

• PHP, HTML, CSS – experience in CodeIgniter or Laravel framework is a plus
• JavaScript – experience in Express JS required; experience in React/ Vue/ Angular is a plus
• Git source control
• Deploying web application to cloud (e.g. AWS) – experience in Docker is a plus
• Relational databases (i.e. MySQL)
• Experience in designing and deploying APIs is a plus
• Experience of using Python for web application development is a plus
