Back End Developer

The Back End Developer will work closely with product owners, UX designers, front end developers to build category defining products in the Ed Tech space.

Our current career development platform used by over 1.7m people across Asia. You'll be launching a next generation short form learning platform as we scale to a global audience.

What you will be doing:

• Drive our backend engineering efforts bottom up (super focussed on execution and code delivery) in Malaysia Office/Remotely.
• Work closely with the CTO, Full Stack Engineers and Frontend Team to ensure a high-quality product is built and constantly iterated upon.

Required Skills

• Python 3.5+ (2+ Years Experience)
• 2+ years of experience in Python development (Any one for each below)
• Flask/Gunicorn, or Uvicorn or FastAPI
• GraphQL API production experience
• Building gateways for Microservices architecture
• Auth0/AWS/Cognito/KeyCloak/Authentication Service - any one
• Lambda functions in AWS or equivalents in Azure - any one
• Strong Cloud Implementations: microservice architectures and open APIs.
• Production experience with Kubernetes/AWS Elastic Container Service, docker and cloud-first development practices.
• Good working knowledge of Amazon AWS, including EC2 and ECS.
• Familiar with any one from either relational(Postgres, MySQL) or non-relational databases (DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, MongoDb)
• Good amount of projects completed under the belt to demonstrate startup-like ability to work independently on the team and take full ownership using little guidance

Good to Have:

• Ability to quickly understand current and state of the art technologies and software engineering processes/frameworks.
• Experience developing Web services and GraphQL/REST APIs
• Software and web application development experience preferred
• Strong unit test and debugging skills along with testing frameworks like sentry/browserstack
• Experienced in Dockerized Builds, NginX and CI/CD Github Actions Workflows
