The Role

GuineaDad is a startup that manufactures and supplies products for small animals. We are looking for a diligent and experienced individual to join our team!

As GuineaDad continues on its hyper growth trajectory as a premium brand in a niche, but sizable, market, we are seeking an Associate Category Manager to support a Category Management Director in the growth of our recently launched online pet marketplace.

You will assist a Category Management Director in defining and building the product mix on our marketplace by working with vendor partners, and our internal marketing and operations team.

You will assist the team to drive profitable growth.

This will be done by understanding consumers, products, and vendors better than anyone. You will need to become the main contact point of the Company to our vendors and partners within the next 4-8 weeks.

Responsibilities are, but not limited to:

  • Search and Identify opportunities for mid-term and long-term category business development.
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor partnership through phone, email, or in-person.
  • Negotiate to improve the product line up and company’s financial performance.
  • Develop and execute strong merchandising and business strategies.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Any other responsibilities as directed by the management.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
2-5 years of relevant experience in Merchandising, eCommerce, Product / Category Management, Consulting, or related field.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel,
Strong negotiation and vendor/client management skills
Excellent oral and writing skills, including thoughtful attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects: prioritizing and delegating where needed.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
Must be willing to travel, as necessary.

Working Schedule:
Full-time: Monday – Friday, 6am - 5pm, typically 50 hours per week, but as much as necessary to get work done.
