Back End Developer at TAUR

Hiring exceptional back-end talent is mission-critical for TAUR. You will design, build and manage TAUR’s fundamental software infrastructure, including servers, databases and APIs. You’ll help keep our data secure and compliant with regulations. You’ll be heavily involved in managing contractors too.

Being a hardware company, any experience you have with IoT is a massive bonus point, as the systems you manage will interface regularly with our embedded systems/apps. You will need to have a broad understanding of the product firmware at least, if not understanding of the code itself.

In addition, you’ll be heavily involved in the development and deployment of our mobile apps (Android and iOS) and any web services that underpin our marketing/support teams. Of course your back-end experience will be invaluable here but any front-end ability is clearly an asset too.

In order of importance we’re looking for:

• 6+ years back-end software expertise: servers, databases and APIs. Ability to develop scalable systems that add significant value to TAUR.
• Experienced software developer, highly knowledgeable about advantages/drawbacks of different software stacks
• Experience or strong interest in embedded programming and IoT
• Proficient in managing code repositories, version control systems, working in teams
• iOS and Android app development experience
• Web development experience
• Knowledge of data warehousing, reporting, dashboards, analytics
• Experience hiring and managing contractors and/or direct reports
