Business Development Manager (Investor Sales)
Our Business Development Managers on the Investor Sales team are the driving force behind organizing supply of Investor funds on the Monexo marketplace. The role is a strategic sales opportunity focused on mobilizing retail capital for investment into loans on Monexo by tapping into investment product distribution channels and by building strong relationships with existing and prospective investors.
Key responsibilities :
● Identify, engage & empanel Independent Financial advisors (IFAs, SEBI RIAs, wealth advisors) who will offer Monexo’s investment offering to their end clients
● Provide strong relationship management and service support to ensure regular investor lead generation from empanelled IFA Partners
● Strengthen working relationships with assigned portfolio of existing IFA partners to further deepen relationships & bring in incremental capital
● Acquire and independently originate a base of retail, HNI and Ultra HNI investors through regular corporate events, organizing local investment seminars and feet on street sales
• Manage and upsize portfolios of existing investors through regular performance updates, portfolio review meetings and actionable, timely advise
● Host and manage product demos for potential online / offline partners and senior representatives of organisations
● Independently build and present a monthly sales plan that will help you meet sales goals and other key organization milestones
● Achieve and meet defined Gross, Net Sales and Asset Under Management (‘AuM’) targets given to you
• Analyze new marketing trends and tools and use them effectively to generate business development strategy that can bring in incremental business.
• Closely monitor the P2P lending ecosystem (competitors, regulatory landscape etc) to suggest and implement suitable alignments that provide the platform with a differentiated value proposition
Who is our ideal candidate ?
● 1+ year of experience with vendor management, partnerships or BD / Investor sales preferably in the financial services space (Banking, Mutual funds, Wealth management, Life insurance etc)
● Bachelor’s degree (Arts / Commerce) from a Recognised institution
● Aggressive sales mindset, strong communication, networking and people management skills
● Decent knowledge and understanding of how financial markets and investment products work
● Good knowledge and understanding of sales cycle and consumer behaviour
● Ability to constantly push the envelope, generate and implement big ideas which impact growth
● Ability to understand problem statements of customers and use the learning to accelerate sales, conversions etc.
● Be open for local travel to convert new sales opportunities – outside of Chennai as well
● Strong interpersonal, analytical, written, presentation skills + good working knowledge of MS Office Suite
● Ability to adapt and willingness to work independently in a high stakes, fast changing environment
