The Opportunity: Payroll Manager
We’re seeking a Payroll Manager to join the growing MightyHive Finance team. The ideal candidate is analytical minded, technologically inclined, results driven, and will thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is a great opportunity to take on a core payroll role in a fast growing company in the AdTech space and help implement new systems and procedures. This role requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of the payroll, sales incentive compensation program, and equity processes for a growing organization and a commitment to providing excellent service to the company’s employees.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Own the payroll function and serve as the main point of contact for all payroll related matters
- Process semi-monthly, final and ad-hoc disbursement of multi-state payroll in Ceridian Dayforce, including, but not limited to garnishments, tax liens, deductions, benefits and taxes for EMEA
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and in a timely way
- Ensure payroll tax returns are filed accurately, timely and in compliance with tax authorities
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
- Work with our tax advisors on all state and federal payroll tax matters to ensure the Company is compliant in all latest tax development and legislations
- Perform payroll analysis and research as required
- Assist with stock equity administration and process stock related payroll transactions monthly
- Record payroll related entries and accruals in the ERP and reconcile accounts monthly
- Participate in the monthly and quarterly commission and bonus calculation process
- Conduct periodic audits of all payroll records and assist in preparing payroll and financial audits
- Assist the employee expense approval and reimbursement process
- Collaborate with other teams on cross-functional payroll matters and provide company wide training on payroll policies and procedures
- Assist in payroll system implementation in US and Canada as well as global rollout
- Assist in ad hoc projects such as documenting workflows, registering in new states for payroll taxation, improving processes/procedures and system implementations
- Handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience processing medium to large size company payroll
- Experience with equity transactions a must
- Experience with payroll system implementation a must
- Experience with Workday and Ceridian/Dayforce a plus
- Experience with Google Drive, including Google Docs, Sheets and Slides a must
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excel in analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to adapt to rapidly-changing environments
- Ability to multi-task with attention to details and minimal supervision
