Lead/Senior Firmware Engineer

This position requires a motivated, creative engineer with the ability to design the firmware and architecture of a variety of new products from concept through production release. You will work under limited supervision and alongside and will contribute to the development of Muse Diagnostics next generation medical devices by designing, testing and validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will work with a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects while acting as a mentor to junior engineers. You will interact with customers and consultants in order to facilitate the completion of products to company specifications.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in the definition of product architecture
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to define firmware requirements and design specifications
3. Develop and deliver robust and safe firmware for medical devices
4. Designs and implements enhancements, updates, and changes for firmware and embedded code
5. Understand low power systems design and implementation principles
6. Assist with agency certifications such FCC, FDA, CE, ISO, and other certifications

MUST HAVE

1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other engineering related fields
2. Must have 7+ years’ experience in firmware development in C/C++
3. Hands on experience in developing firmware for medical devices
4. Strong embedded software development in complex applications preferably with STM32 platforms or other ARM cortex M4 platforms.
5. I2S, USB, SPI, I2C, DFSDM, UART, SMBUs, embedded File System
6. Experience with wireless communication and security (Bluetooth, BLE, and Wi-Fi)
7. RTOS and low firmware development experience
8. Familiar with DSP techniques and implementation including but not limited to DWT, FIR and LMS.
9. Familiar with basic electronic circuitry, schematics and data sheets
