Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for developers and architects with expertise in one or more of Apache Kafka, Spark, Cassandra, Akka.

MediaMelon is currently looking for a Big Data Engineers of hands-on experience in building & architecting large-scale data processing systems. You will be an integral part of MediaMelon's backend team and be responsible for developing code, tests, and driving improvements and innovations to our analytics engine.

What you'll bring to the table
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java or Scala
• 4+ years of experience with big data tools such as Apache Kafka, Spark or Cassandra
• Experience in designing REST APIs and MySQL databases
• Very good understanding of Operating Systems and Networking concepts
• Should be able to work in the role of an individual contributor in the team
• Excellent debugging skills and the ability to write API & unit tests.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills
• Familiarity with a Unix environment

Prefer candidates with knowledge of:
• Experience with AI/ML technologies and algorithms
• Experience with Scala Akka framework
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Kubernetes, Docker
• Experience in Spring and Hibernate frameworks

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills (spoken and written)
• Comfortable working in a team environment using agile methods
• Flexible mindset; ability to consider different approaches to meet technical and project objectives
• Enthusiastic, motivated and likes to learn new technologies

Basic Qualifications:
• BS or MS in Computer Science or related engineering with 8 years of experience.
