Head of E-commerce & Growth at Luxury Footwear Brand
Our Story
Founded in 2016, Baudoin & Lange designs, manufactures and sells high-end luxury footwear for men and women.
Allan Baudoin, a computer scientist and Apple alumni turned self-trained bespoke shoe maker, designed and handcrafted the first Sagan in 2014 as his own atelier shoes (n.b. these) - hundreds of prototypes and two years of development later, the Sagan was born - instantly conquering the connoisseurs regulars of "the Row" with their supreme comfort, fit for a modern lifestyle.
When he and Bo van Langeveld, an ex-racing driver turned financier who was tired of suffering in his obligatory formal office shoes, met - they together developed the idea of a modern shoe brand that would combine the best of both worlds : comfort and style.
Our first staple product, the Sagan, is a supremely comfortable and versatile category defining loafer, featured in major publications and sold in over 100 countries through our own E-commerce platform and at luxury stockist all over the world. We have been experiencing tremendous growth over the past 3 years, and our team and company is rapidly expanding!
The Opportunity
Baudoin & Lange are growing! As the head of E-commerce & Growth you will be responsible for the performance of our Shopify e-commerce website and end-to-end customer experience and for driving growth within traffic, conversion, revenue for the business. As an experienced e-commerce and growth professional, in this role you will be expected to use both the left (analytical) and right (creative) parts of your brain and should be as comfortable with the science of marketing as well as the art of it. You must be able to work at both a strategic level, generating bold and imaginative strategies for revenue growth, and at a tactical level working with your team to continually optimize campaigns based on data analysis, customer feedback and direct response metrics.
Main activities include but are not limited to:
• Accountable for the end-to-end customer experience and for driving growth within traffic, conversion, revenue and profit
• Oversee all aspects of product and performance marketing across the online platform, including awareness, consideration, acquisition and retention
• Leverage your extensive experience of developing data-driven media strategies and tactics to drive positive ROI across the ecommerce platform
• Own the ecommerce P&L
• Monitor site and channel performances and drive continuous ways to further improve and optimise
• Build and own best-in-class, performance-optimised acquisition strategy and own the day-to-day execution and optimisation of campaigns on all key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Google Adwords etc.)
• Accountable for delivering insights, analysis, and recommendations across the E-Commerce functions, taking the ownership of the funnel analysis, performing weekly and monthly reports to track company performances and drive growth;
• Work effectively with third party partners and agencies
• Lead the team in annual and quarterly planning, keeping track of the budget, and reporting on marketing initiatives’ performance, with a focus on ROI & revenue growth
About You
You are an experienced, successful and highly professional e-commerce growth marketing expert, with an in-depth knowledge of digital marketing, and a passion for driving business growth through data analysis, experimentation and creative thinking. Significant experience with both paid and organic performance marketing strategies is also essential.
Entrepreneurial, and thriving in fast-paced environments, you combine strong commercial instincts, with a meticulous eye for detail and a high sense of urgency. Outside of that, you will have the following skills that will help set you up for success:
• In-depth experience with E-commerce
• Extremely well-developed analytical skills
• Intermediate E-commerce technical skills
• Self-starter with a bias for action who can make things happen when faced with ambiguity
• Outstanding leadership and coaching skills of inspiring high-performing teams
• A ‘can-do’ attitude, flexibility, creativity, and ‘outside the box’ thinking
• High performance under pressure and a strong sense of accountability and ownership
• You are always looking and reading about the latest digital marketing trends and technologies in your free time
• Experience in a startup/scale-up or other fast-paced & high-growth company culture
