Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of Snowflake-based analytics solution (data lake and data warehouse) on AWS. This includes:
Data and analytics requirements definition, source data analysis and profiling, logical and physical design of the data lake and data warehouse as well as design of data integration and publication pipelines. Make recommendation on the use of ETL vs. ELT techniques, various components of Snowflake, configuration, design, administration of Snowflake environment. Help implement the appropriate data privacy requirements. Analyze the current analytics environment and make recommendation for appropriate data warehouse modernization and migration to the cloud. Develop Snowflake deployment and usage best practices. Help educate the rest of the team members on the capabilities and limitations Snowflake.
Required Skills & Experience
• 10+ years’ experience in a technical leadership role performing data
warehouse and analytics solution design and development using a v
variety of techniques,
• 8+ years hands-on experience with on premise data warehouse
technologies such as Teradata, Netezza, Oracle, SQLServer
• Expert in data architecture design, data modeling, and physical database
design and tuning
• 2+ years’ experience in implementation of Cloud data warehouse s using
Snowflake. Knowledge of other cloud DW platforms such as Redshift and
Azure SQL Data Warehouse is a plus
• Hands-on experience with AWS, S3, and other data management utilities
on AWS (AWS certification a big plus)
• Hands-on knowledge in Python, Spark and/or Scala a big plus
• Ability to understand data pipelines and modern ways of automating data
using cloud based and on premise technologies
• Expert in SQL
• Experience designing and developing data integration solutions using
both ETL and ELT techniques, preferably using Informatica PowerCenter.
Knowledge of Cloud-based data integration tools such as IICS, Matillion,
Fivetran a big plus.
• knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, and/or Power Bia
big plus
• Proven track record for technical team leadership
• Excellent presentation skill and articulating complex technical solutions to
both technical and non-technical audience
