The Role
Description:
AgShift is an early stage startup with a mission to design better, more transparent and digitized food system. Through the lens of machine learning we are bringing much needed “Digital Transparency” to the food industry. Lack of transparency and digitization leads to 31% of food loss –in other words $133B pounds of food is wasted every year in US alone due to inconsistency in assessing the quality of food. We are passionate about applying right technology to solve complex, global food challenges.
We have assembled a top notch team of technologists, data scientists, strategic investors and recognized industry experts from the industry to bring this vision together. We are looking for amazing people to do great things with us and play a key role in helping us accomplish this vision.
We are looking to hire talented senior software engineer for development and maintaining our software stack, which would work seamlessly with our core machine learning code, backend API and Database all within the Kubernetes Devops orchestration. You will be one of our initial hires and a part of a small, and lean team which delivers quality technology.
Experience: Previous work experience ( 3-5 years) in developing, deploying and maintaining a scalable software stack is highly desirable.
Skills:
The ideal person should be an expert in defining and maintaining the software architecture which holds all the components of the software stack together. He/She should be able to architect the Database Schema (MongoDB and MySQL), expert in handling the client server communication in REST framework and build a scalable solution using Kubernetes Devops orchestration tool. The candidate should be extremely conversant with at least one high level language like C++/Python, algorithms and data structures. He/She should be proficient in scripting (bash).
Qualification:
Ideally a M.S. majoring in computer science is desired but not required. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree with expertise in this area are also encouraged to apply.
