Staff/Lead Machine Learning Engineer

Course Hero is scaling! We are looking for a Staff/Lead Machine Learning Engineer who is ready to hit the ground running and work on a lot of innovative and exciting projects related to study and learning tools. You will be a part of the Study Solutions pod in the Study Experiences team at Course Hero and collaborate cross-functionally to ship products that personalize learning experiences for students.

You'll be a technical leader who provides mentorship to team members, drives execution on key projects and participates in the improvement of our software systems. We expect you to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and adapt to ever-changing business needs.

• Be a self motivated, bold thinker, innovator and builder of innovative ML algorithms and embrace full stack data science.
• Design and develop machine learning techniques to precisely identify questions and provide accurate and contextually relevant answers.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product owners and UX designers to conceptualize, execute, and deliver compelling and personalized intelligent study experiences.
• You’ll help engineers from other teams to understand and learn about machine learning and help Course Hero be a data driven company.

Are you our Staff/Lead Machine Learning Engineer?

• 8+ years of relevant experience in building Machine Learning algorithms and systems, preferably with a focus on natural language processing, computational linguistics, and question-answering.
• 3+ years of experience using ML frameworks Scikit-Learn, PyTorch, or Tensorflow.
• 4+ years of solid programming experience in Python or Scala.

Bonus Points:

• Experience in working with Spark, Hive.
• Very passionate about education.
• PhD or Master's degree in an applicable field like Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a similar field, or equivalent experience working on complex & large size ML projects.

The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below.
