The Role

Are you an expert Travel Planner and Sales Manager eager to use your skills to address climate change? Are you tired of just working a job and finally want to own equity and create something of your own?

Wild Nectar is on a quest to bring sustainability to the luxury travel space and needs a dynamic Sales Manager to care for and inspire an ever-growing team of values-driven travel planners. Three years from now, our plan is to scale into a huge company adding 60 salespeople per year and we need you to help us gather the tools, select the team, and formulate a sales foundation that will assure our success.

And you won’t be alone spearheading sales. Our founder comes to Wild Nectar with 18 years’ experience selling adventure travel, expedition ships, small group journeys, and custom land programs. She was also the West Coast Director for Direct Travel’s leisure division and designed polar expeditions for Abercrombie & Kent. Together, you and the founder will create a legendary sales team with deep knowledge, powerfully efficient systems, and the high touch service our luxury travelers expect.

About Us
Wild Nectar Immersive Travel Collection, a rising star in the $1.2T global luxury travel market, is pioneering sustainable luxury travel. With over $2M in revenue since people started traveling mid-2022, we are gearing up for rapid expansion. Our mission is to cater to eco-conscious Baby Boomers and Gen-Xers, offering them immersive travel experiences while combatting climate change.

Key responsibilities include:

• Expert Travel Planning: Be ready to sell expedition ships, small group journeys and custom land programs over the next 4-10 months as we ramp up our bootstrapping phase. Selling travel yourself will be your best preparation for training others. Be a master of details, client communications, and costing. Deep destination knowledge in many parts of the world preferred.
• Software Set Up: Use basic systems like Outlook, a Google Drive, and a simple CRM to start. Then work closely with the founder and VP of Technology to select, set up, and test our new travel CRM for supreme sales efficiency.
• Keen Eye for Talent: Be ready to identify the “sales gene” and select travel planners for our team who are driven, highly detail-oriented, personable, and ready to sell the whole world, even if we have to teach them about it first.
• Sales Training and Planner Development: Teach promising candidates new to the workforce the skillset and strategies behind becoming an expert travel planner.
• Sales Strategy, Reporting & Forecasting: Work closely with the founder to formulate strategies aligned with the company’s goals and values. Generate reports. Prepare forecasts and manage the sales department’s KPI’s.
• Budgeting and Costing: Manage the sales department budget, allocating resources effectively, optimizing expenses to maximize ROI.
• Client Feedback & Issues: Gather and analyze customer feedback. Implement improvements and manage traveler emergencies.
• Product Analysis: Help the founder and VP of Marketing determine the best product mix for our clients.
• Den Mother/Cub Scout Leader: Be a role model and support system for both seasoned travel planners and those new to the workforce. Selling travel can be a difficult job and we intend to care deeply for all our staff and help all manage the stress and discomfort that can come with the job.
• Manage with Grace & Positivity: Be your team’s biggest cheerleader and focus on strengths while providing tools to improve weaknesses.

Qualifications
• 5+ years selling travel, luxury and/or adventure travel preferred.
• 8+ years in the travel business, including significant leadership experience.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Deep rapport with and empathy for luxury travel clients ages 50-75.
• An in-depth understanding of the travel market, including industry trends, customer preferences, competitor landscape, and regulatory requirements.
• Bachelors’ degree or advanced degree
• Passion for sustainability and strong desire to make a difference.
• Startup or small company experience and willingness to “wear many hats” in the beginning.
• Entrepreneurial spirit.

What You’ll Get
• A chance to be part of a company with a strong mission and potential for significant impact.
• Equity stake in a disruptive company planning a spectacular exit.
• Competitive salary post-funding, with a $3000 per month stipend + 3% commission during the fundraising phase.
• An opportunity to work in a fast-paced startup environment with a passionate team.
We’re currently fundraising. We’re also entering a 6–8-month high-energy period where we’ll be pushing hard to drive revenue and make a start on our tech stack. Once funded, we'll hit the ground running and your salary and full-time job with benefits will begin.
