Ardent is seeking a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst – Environmental to join our team.

This is a on-site position located at the United States Coast Guard, Shore Infrastructure Logistics Center, in Norfolk, VA.

Position Description:

Ardent is seeking a GIS Analyst to support our Federal Partner’s geospatial program. This role is crucial for providing enterprise-wide environmental services that help prioritize resource allocation for the Coast Guard’s (CG) facilities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing, enrolling, and sustaining the Environmental Remediation GIS data layers for CG facilities, ensuring accurate data management and effective environmental remediation efforts.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Develop, edit, and update GIS data layers, web maps, and other GIS products using ESRI's ArcGIS suite, ensuring data accuracy and record integrity.
  • Support the development and sustainment of environmental remediation GIS data layers for CG facilities, using established data schemas and platforms.
  • Convert pre-existing environmental remediation GIS data to conform with current data schemas and integrate it into the CG facilities' remediation GIS data layers.
  • Provide CG GIS environmental data to new contractors for the development of site-specific environmental conditions.
  • Develop and sustain links between GIS remediation site locations and designated storage locations for remediation reports and documents.
  • Collaborate on data schema development, GIS data layer development, and sustainment for various environmental asset types, including petroleum and fuel tanks, air emissions sources, and more.
  • Work closely with other GIS Analysts, the CG GIS Program Manager, and subordinate commands in managing SILC's ArcGIS Enterprise content.
  • Serve as a GIS technical resource, offering guidance and training to SILC and subordinate unit staff members.
  • Produce GIS-related products, such as maps, charts, graphs, and analyses, based on specifications from the SILC GIS Program Manager or Contracting Officers Representative.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or higher in GIS, Surveying, Engineering, Geography, Information Systems, or Environmental Management, with a strong background in environmental remediation projects.
  • Five (5) years of experience in developing, editing and updating GIS data layers, web maps and other GIS products using ESRI's ArcGIS suite of GIS applications. Accurately inputting data and making changes to records stored within the GIS data layers is crucial. This experience shall be directly related to environmental remediation projects.
  • Proficient in creating and managing documents and communications using Microsoft Office suite tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and provide expert guidance and training in GIS applications.
  • Experience in ESRI's ArcGIS suite and related GIS applications.
