About the Role:
In this Manager, Accounting role, you will have the opportunity to work on significant areas of the month-end close, ad-hoc projects as directed by management, and other critical operational tasks. This position will support Bluevine's corporate accounting operation and payment functions and lead the compensation and benefits accounting function in the US. The right person for this role should be proactive and have strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Contribute to the month/quarter/year-end close process
- Record and reconcile payroll and related benefit accounts
- Partner with Bluevine’s Benefits and Payroll teams to ensure compensation data is accurately reflected in the accounting records
- Review work papers related to corporate accounting operations
- Analyze fluctuations in P&L activity month over month
- Collaborate with other departments such as Finance, Operations, and Legal to gather information and support business initiatives
- Identify improvements (including automation) for existing processes and internal and external systems through collaboration with other departments.
- Assist in Bluevine's annual financial statement audit
- Contribute to the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures and internal control documentation
- Oversee accounts payable lead and assist in corporate payments processing
- Work with and assist in developing junior accountants on the team
WHAT WE LOOK FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA required)
8+ years of relevant experience
- Corporate accounting operations
- Accounting for compensation and benefits
- Progressive industry accounting preferred (Tech, FinTech, Startup)
- Proven experience in accounting leadership roles with a minimum of 2 years of managerial experience
Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting GL systems (Netsuite strongly preferred)
Ability to partner cross-functionally across
Excellent knowledge of accounting procedures and principles
Understanding of both financial and operational controls
Strong analytical mind and an eye for detail
Excellent communication and organizational skills, both written and verbal
Ability to be flexible and comfortable with changing requirements.
A positive attitude
New Hire Base Salary Range: $119,800 - $146,700
This role is also eligible to earn annual performance-based incentive compensation in the form of a cash bonus.
