Junior Back-End Developer - Python

Parkopedia is searching for a talented Junior Python Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will grow with us as we transition elements of our production infrastructure to Python including our APIs and data feeds, which are essential for delivering our services to our partners and customers worldwide.

We are part of a global team, but this role is based in Moldova at our Chisiau office. Parkopedia maintains a flexible location policy (hybrid) but the role will require a proportion of time to be spent at the Chisinau office.

Responsibilities

This role requires basic familiarity with software development in Python. Responsibilities include assisting with the development and maintenance of scalable and robust APIs using Python and related technologies. We implement efficient data retrieval and transformation processes to ensure high-quality data delivery through these APIs.

All code we produce must be clean, well-documented, and maintainable, adhering to best practices and coding standards. To guarantee smooth operation for our customers, we operate a culture where our developers monitor and troubleshoot performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Beyond technical expertise, collaboration is key. You will work closely with senior engineers who will guide your design, implementation and testing as we seek to develop products and improve our existing infrastructure. Our teams collaborate effectively, and foster a supportive and open environment.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of Python and its Web frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI).
• Familiarity with web development concepts (HTTP, RESTful APIs) and data structures.
• Interest in learning about data retrieval, transformation, and manipulation using Python and tools such as Apache Airflow.
• An introductory knowledge of cloud services (e.g. AWS) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
