ROLE SUMMARY:

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Buyer Planner located in Billerica, MA to join our Procurement Team. This position will be responsible for a variety of activities including management of the purchase requisition to purchase order placement process, vendor follow up, invoice reconciliation, and order returns management.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Reporting to the Procurement Manager, responsibilities include purchasing across multiple product types such as: biologicals, chemicals, consumables, and antibodies/antigens.
  • Analyze historical material usage and annual forecast usage for manufacturing materials to make purchasing decisions.
  • Perform all procurement activities including vendor price negotiation, terms & conditions negotiations, creating purchase orders, order confirmations and promise date verification.
  • Work cross functionally with planning, quality control and manufacturing to evaluate and pre-approve samples of material.
  • Monitor open purchase order report and follow up with vendors to ensure delivery dates are being met and any delivery date changes are communicated.
  • Manage requests from QC-Incoming and Receiving to ensure all proper documentation has been provided by the supplier for seamless receipt.
  • Manage and maintain supplier performance report and create vendor scorecards for critical suppliers.
  • Work cross functionally with internal stakeholders to purchase indirect material requirements.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust safety stock levels to ensure continuity of supply and mitigate raw material stock-outs.
  • Run overdue PO reports and maintain day to day communication with suppliers to ensure high levels of on-time delivery and adjusting the promise date in our ERP system to ensure data integrity.
  • Review invoices to ensure 3-way match, work with vendors on any issues, and approve for payment.
  • Manage requests from Billing/Accounts Payable and resolve supplier invoicing issues.
  • Manage New Vendors and request for adding to the Approved Vendor list, generating new vendors in ERP (Syteline) and record management required of vendor forms.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in supply chain

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent industry experience
  • APICS and/or ISM certification is desirable
  • ERP/Syteline Experience preferred
  • Excellent organizational, record keeping and communication skills.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Comfortable working independently on core job function with minimal direction and oversight.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with cross-functional teams and be a team player.
  • Possess an ability to learn and master complicated concepts quickly and comfortably.
  • Able to generate high quality data under tight deadlines.
