Technical Lead / Backend Software Developer

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Software Developer with expertise in database design, particularly SQL, to join our dynamic team as a Technical Lead. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of 4-5 offshore engineers, overseeing their work, and ensuring project deadlines are met. You will collaborate closely with the engineering team and other stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain our backend infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
Lead a team of offshore engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support.
Manage the development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions.
Design and optimize database structures and schemas to support the platform's performance and scalability requirements.
Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services with user interfaces.
Act as a subject matter expert in backend development, database design, and performance optimization.
Utilize project management tools such as JIRA to track progress, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of tasks.
Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce best practices in software development.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a backend software developer, with a focus on database design and SQL.
Strong understanding of frontend technologies, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Experience managing and leading technical teams, preferably in a distributed/offshore setup.
Proficiency in project management tools like JIRA, with the ability to act as a JIRA master.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. (Nice to have, but if you have significant demonstrable experience - let’s talk!)
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in the fintech industry or mortgage lending domain is a plus.
