Performance Engineer

We are on the lookout for a talented Performance Engineer to play a pivotal role in optimising the performance of our innovative healthcare technology solutions, ensuring seamless experiences for our clients and users.

As an Intermediate Performance Engineer at Orion Health, your role is critical in investigating and troubleshooting issues to accelerate performance, and developing, implementing, and supporting our customers.

What will you be doing?

• Taking ownership of solving performance problems as an engineer with a passion for optimising systems.
• Investigating, troubleshooting, and engineering technical solutions to enhance software reliability and responsiveness.
• Playing a vital role in key product and customer-facing projects, ensuring optimal performance outcomes.
• Managing day-to-day performance-related tasks, including load testing, analysis, observability, and site-support performance activities.
• Contributing to the performance and process automation code base to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
• Compiling comprehensive reports to provide insights into performance observability and improvements.

What will you bring?

• Experience: With a minimum of 4 years experience under your belt in performance engineering, you have had the opportunity to manage and lead successful performance projects on enterprise level software. You also have a strong understanding of Python, Java and object-oriented programming. Finally, capability in solutioning and deployment would be highly beneficial!
• Skills: You also have experience with multiple enterprise databases, preferably Oracle, Postgres and MS SQL Server, and performance developing performance scripts in Gatling. Deep understanding of technologies such as Prometheus and Grafana is key. Additionally, having a strong knowledge of AWS and Docker is very advantageous.
• Characteristics: You love to solve problems, have an eye for detail, enjoy understanding how things work under the hood, and thrive in a team environment. You will also possess an agile mindset and have a great collaborative approach. Most importantly, you have an optimistic outlook on life and a sense of humour!
