Azbil North America Research and Development, Inc., a subsidiary of Azbil Corporation, a multibillion dollar publicly traded corporation with HQ in Tokyo, Japan (www.azbil.com) established in 1906, is seeking an experienced RF / Microwave Engineer to join our team based in Silicon Valley with strong collaboration with our R&D Headquarters in Japan.
The RF engineer candidate will contribute to the research, design, implementation, and optimization of radio frequency systems and wireless communication networks with the goal of further enabling RF / Microwave capability within the Azbil R&D organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in RF engineering, be well-versed in working with various RF equipment, and have a deep understanding of wireless communication protocols.
Responsibilities:
· Design and develop RF components, circuits, and systems for wireless communication and sensor applications.
· Conduct RF planning, network optimization, and site surveys to ensure optimal signal coverage / performance.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate RF systems into larger projects.
· Perform RF testing, measurements, and analysis to identify and troubleshoot performance issues.
· Implement and optimize antenna systems to achieve desired signal strength, coverage, and quality.
· Develop and maintain documentation, including RF system specifications, design documents, and test reports.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in RF engineering.
· Provide technical support to field teams during installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of RF systems.
· Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and select RF components and equipment.
· Participate in the development of new products and features related to wireless communication technologies.
· Conduct surveys of innovative breakthrough technologies with the Azbil team as well as third parties.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Sensing, or related field.
· Proven experience working as an RF Engineer in wireless communication or RF system design.
· Strong knowledge of RF theory, electromagnetic principles, and wireless communication protocols.
· Proficiency in RF simulation and design tools such as MATLAB, ADS, HFSS, etc.
· Hands-on experience with RF test equipment, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, etc.
· Familiarity with wireless standards such as GSM, CDMA, LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.
· Ability to perform RF testing, measurements, and analysis to diagnose and resolve issues.
· Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and licensing procedures is a plus.
