Data Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Management Engineer with a strong background in the Banking Sector to join our data team. Design and maintain data lineage and metadata frameworks to track data flows, transformations, and relationships within the banking data ecosystem.
Lead efforts to ensure compliance with industry regulations such as Basel III, Dodd-Frank, and GDPR, as well as internal policies related to data security and privacy.
Implement data retention and archiving strategies in alignment with regulatory requirements and business needs.
Collaborate with data architecture teams to optimize data storage, retrieval, and integration processes, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Monitor data access patterns and identify anomalies or potential breaches, taking proactive measures to safeguard sensitive financial information.
Coordinate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements, address data-related challenges, and support data-driven decision-making.
Participate in the design and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans for banking data systems.
Stay current with emerging data management technologies, trends, and best practices within the banking and financial services sector.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior data management team members.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field; relevant certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or CBIP (Certified Business Intelligence Professional) preferred.
Proven experience as a Data Management Engineer within the banking sector, demonstrating a deep understanding of financial data processes, structures, and regulations.
Solid knowledge of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements in the banking industry.
Proficiency in data management tools, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data integration techniques.
Familiarity with data privacy and security frameworks such as PCI-DSS, GLBA, and ISO 27001.
Experience with data modeling, metadata management, and data lineage tools.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective data management solutions.
