Your New Role and Team
Sanctuary is looking for exceptional Applied Researchers specialized in Motion Planning to help develop systems that support the development of the world's first human-like intelligence in general-purpose robots.

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on or with state-of-the-art software systems, tackling challenges that include abstracting robot platforms for development and production, data and signals processing, the development of simulated environments, and various levels of control systems.

Your Experience
Qualifications:
● Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Controls, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
● Direct experience in motion planning and optimization
● Direct experience with motion planning in high DOF (>6) systems
● Experience working on complex engineering problems as part of a team

Skills:
● 5+ years development experience with Python and C++
● Familiarity with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow a plus
● Experience with Atlassian tools; Jira, GitLab, Confluence
● Experience with Motion Planning Libraries OMPL or MoveIt
● Familiarity with Path Planning Algorithms

Compensation:
At Sanctuary AI, we provide above average total compensation that includes three components: salary, equity, earned bonuses, and benefits. Our goal is to ensure fairness in pay and we strive to make the overall package highly competitive with current market rates.

The base salary for this role is expected to be between $150,000 and $160,000 CAD per year.

Equity:
Equity will play a significant role in the total compensation for this role. Our goal is to provide a generous equity compensation package, exceeding what is typically offered by companies of our size. The specific amount of equity will be communicated to candidates upon receiving an offer.

Benefits - Canadian permanent employees are eligible for:

● Dental - 80% Basic/50% Major to combined $1,500 maximum
● Vision - full coverage for eye exam - $250 coverage for hardware - dependent every 12 months, adult every 24 months
● Hearing Aids - $750 per 60 months

● Prescriptions - 100% coverage of dispensing fee, 80% coverage for drugs
● Paramedicals - $500 coverage, i.e., chiropractic, physiotherapy, etc. - per employee/family member

The compensation and benefits details provided for this role in Vancouver, BC are based on Sanctuary's market evaluation and may be subject to changes in the future. Your pay within the specified range will depend on various job-related factors, such as your position on our internal performance ladder, which is determined by your past work experience, relevant education, and performance during interviews or work trials.
