We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Mid-Senior Web Developer to join our fast-growing and market-leading team in Prahran. Studio Alt is a product design and development agency that focuses on building brands and products for our loyal and diverse clientele. We utilise Shopify and E-Commerce to assist our clients, who range from skin care to fashion to finance.

We’re searching for a passionate, creative and confident Mid-to-Senior Developer to join us. You’ll work closely with our tightly-knit team and clients alike to ensure that they receive the best results possible. Your responsibilities will include:

• Building efficient, accessible and responsive websites from design files
• Testing, managing and resolving major bug fixes, including quality assurance checks
• Managing version control with GIT, deploying between local and server environments
• Following and defining in-house conventions for development and asset organisation
• Delegating tasks to appropriate team members and ensuring agreed timeframes regarding client’s sprint are met
• Mentoring junior developers and educating the greater development team

Tools you will be using:

• VSCode - our code editor of choice
• Figma - for design handoff and asset export
• Slack - for team communication
• Terminal - for running yarn, valet, composer commands, SSH
• Notion - for documentation

Qualifications and experience required:

• Advanced understanding of Github
• Advanced understanding of Visual Studio Code
• Intermediate understanding of Javascript, including ReactJS
• Intermediate understanding of HTML5, including accessibility and SEO
• Intermediate understanding of CSS and preprocessors (SASS)
• Intermediate understanding of Webpack
• Experience with e-commerce and knowledge of best practises
• Experience with a custom CMS, e.g., Strapi, Prismic or DatoCMS
• Completed a diploma or degree related to Computer Science Engineering
• 3 or more years of experience in a similar role

To stand out to us, you will have:

• Experience in an agency environment
• Experience with NextJS and GatsbyJS
• Experience with animations (or GSAP) and 3D, including WebGL
• Experience in Shopify or Shopify Plus
• Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience with Google Analytics and Tag Manager
• Experience using Figma for design handoff
