3D Printing technician will assist in the designing and programming of products, ranging from prosthetic products to 3D miniatures. They will provide 3D printing maintenance, check 3D renders for customers and run 3D printing tests. 3D printing technician will also repair, maintain and clean 3D printers. Additionally, this position will provide technical guidance to customers regarding process capabilities and limitations and resolves customer issues.
Responsibilities
Receive, prioritize, and process 3D model print request activities; manage new and ongoing customer projects from planning to execution
Evaluate customers’ designs to ensure compatibility with 3D printing; recommend technical solutions, including systems, to the customer
Adjust engineering designs of products or parts of products to meet customer requirements
Operate 3D computer graphics software and tools to enable digital editing, modeling, rendering, and composition of graphics along with slicing software like Cura or Simplify3D
Proactively maintain an inventory of components, supplies, tools, and consumables for printing machines
Maintain, repair, and operate various types of 3D printers and related technologies; define optimum settings for new materials
Post-processing of the parts using manual, semi-automated and automated methods
Maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of the 3D printers and other production equipment's.
Work with engineers and other members of the team on validation, prototyping, and optimization
Qualifications
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Product Designer, animation, creative design and model-making.
General Requirements
Prior 3D printing or manufacturing experience/knowledge (a plus but not required)
Appreciation for building and working with materials hands on (required)
Detail oriented and interested in learning more about new manufacturing technologies
Able to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to a changing environment
Ability to work overtime as required
Promote a safe and clean work environment
Able to follow manufacturing instruction and understand processes
Must be fluent in the English language
