The Role
The IT Suport Technician is responsible for supporting the technological efficiencies within the office and for ensuring complete user support of all computer/phone systems and software platforms.

The scope of the IT Support Technician position is much larger in a small business, where the position is also responsible for coordinating any company-wide tech initiatives with our headquarters in San Diego and ensuring company-wide tech processes and procedures are being enforced remotely while working from our New York office. This position should always be striving to support staff in utilizing our company technology in a consistent manner and ensuring that he/she provides adequate training at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned

  • Provide overall IT support to all users, agency-wide via in-person, telephone, email, or other remote services
  • Responsible for the support and troubleshooting of all computers, peripherals, phones, and network infrastructures
  • Responsible for handling all tech issues and providing support as needed.
  • Partner with Technical Operations Specialist to receive support requests through Zendesk & Slack communications.
  • Maintain detailed notes, equipment, and inventory lists
  • Oversee the installations, upgrades, and configuration for all systems
  • Provision computers for new employees through Addigy MDM and configure sign-in and 2-step verification processes for users with JumpCloud.
  • Maintain configuration and installation procedures and processes.
  • Create and maintain user/computer accounts, permissions, and access rights in Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, and Office 365.
  • Assist with network improvements, upgrades, and repairs
  • Occasionally work additional hours, as needed, to meet departmental demands (on-call)
  • Provide schedule on-site weekly visits to support staff

Experience

  • Must be highly proficient in Mac OSX and/or Linux Operating Systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve simple network problems
  • Must have worked with Google Apps, Google Apps for Work, or Google G-Suite.
    * Add users * Transfer user docs and forward their accounts to others when needed * Google Calendar event administration for users * Understand how Google Groups work and how to create, manage, and modify permissions of the groups
  • Knowledge of how to restore a Mac to factory default configuration
  • Knowledge of maintaining Apple Business Manager DEP enrolled devices, and MDM profiles (Systems like Addigy, JAMF, etc.)
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office 365 and how it integrates with Apple OSX
  • Knowledge of MacOS Terminal, Google Apps Manager (GAM) and Google Cloud Console is a plus.
  • Apple iOS mobile operating system knowledge and ability to troubleshoot
  • Must be able to configure Apple Mail and install other standard apps that the company uses to communicate

Education/Experience:
4-year degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
CCNA, Net +, A+ certificates are a plus
