Mateo AbascalThe Role
We are looking for a passionate, mission driven engineer to join and lead RF development within our disaster zone cellular networks. Since this role will require some in person development with equipment in our offices, we can only evaluate applicants able to work hybrid or in person in the Los Angeles Area or the SF Bay Area (we don't have an office in the bay area just yet, but we are looking to open one in the next couple months, if you're the right person, we would happily take you on remote for a month or so). Our current hiring plan is extremely flexible too, so if you are looking for a lower seniority position or something a little different let us know!
Ideally, you would work on the RF design for Beamlink's portable base station which utilizes Wi-Fi, LTE, and 5G-NR Technologies. You would be responsible for designing the RF amplification for these radio waveforms as well as testing and validation of wireless performance and assisting the team with development of Beamlink's software-defined radio technology. Additionally, you would be responsible for designing and testing Beamlink's antenna setup and various configurations, as well as estimating range and designing tests for verifying cellular and network performance from an RF perspective
Skills: Amplifer design, PCB design & manufacture, solid state RF technology, test & measurement, wireless principles, basic knowledge of networking, antenna principles.
Nice to have: knowledge about beamforming, MIMO, and 4G/5G-NR
Compensation: We believe in compensating all employees fairly. As a startup, if we can't pay you market rate, equity is always negotiable in our hiring agreements. In the case of this role, pay is variable depending on prior experience and the kinds of responsibilities you are interested in taking up
