Ruby on Rails Development Engineer

We are hiring for an exciting e-commerce logistics company in Pune.

Responsibilities Include -
1. Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for SaaS products with
hands-on in Ruby on Rails, Front end (JS Framework, HTML, CSS, design & interaction,
rich interfaces) and Database (MySQL, efficient data retrieval)
2. Contribute at individual level in coding and development of modules (Yes, you will be
hands on coding at Anchanto), module level integrations, API integrations, supporting
integration with customer systems, integration with third party apps / platforms
3. Write maintainable/ scalable/ efficient code
4. Design and architect technical solutions for the business requirements of a large eCommerce logistics platform
5. Work in cross-functional team, collaborating with team members during entire SDLC
6. Follow coding standards, unit-testing, code reviews etc.
7. Follow release cycles and commitment to deadlines
8. Maintain proper records of the design and implementation in the technical specification document
9. Work closely with the Development Manager extending full support in achieving the common goal in the best interest of the project and the Company
10. Providing regular and precise status updates on the development owned, taking steps to identify risks and devise mitigation plans
11. Continually look for opportunities to improve coding, module structure, response time of the queries

Requirements Include:
1. Ability to work in fast paced, growth mode startup environment. Ready to roll sleeves,
do-what-ever-needs-to-be-done attitude, hands-on approach to lead by example and
showcasing the sense of ownership
2. Minimum 2-years of hands-on development experience with Ruby and Ruby on
Rails, RSpec, Cucumber, MySQL, Nginx, Phusion Passenger, Git, SVN, JSON, Cucumber
and Unix, for the Web/ SaaS/ Cloud applications
3. Has built web applications and services from scratch
4. Understanding of data structures, coding standards, best practices, software design,
architecture
5. Work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life
6. The candidate will have strong communication skills, able to clearly articulate, defend
and document design decisions
7. Extra consideration given to – (i) An active github account (ii) Rolled out your own web
site on cloud (iii) Dealt with database performance issues and query optimization in
MySQL (iv) Written and/or maintain a Rails plugin (v) Experience with Rails Engine gems
(vi) Working knowledge of Rackspace or Amazon Web Services (vii) Understanding of
Server Instances, RDS, S3, EC2, Load balancer on AWS (viii) Server configuration and
Deployment with and without Capistrano
8. A go-getter and proactive member working in the best interest of the project, identifying
development process and team improvement opportunities, deployment of new
practices and ideas, result oriented experimenting with new tools and technologies to
improve platform and overall productivity
