Summary:
The Retail Operations Manager is a remote opportunity. This role will be responsible for supporting the Director of Sales and Marketing in achieving retail sales goals for New York State. This position manages a team of Retail Managers who oversee day-to-day store operations within NY State, ensuring an exceptional customer experience, maintaining a highly engaged and positive team culture, and meeting company defined revenue goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees all Retail activities for NYCANNA which includes providing operational oversight and strategic direction to Retail Managers so that they can deliver results within their stores that enable them to deliver local KPI’s and revenue results.
- Conducts store walk-throughs to analyze sales and marketing opportunities, risks and key controls.
- Manages Retail Operations specific KPI achievements, standards of excellence, and conducts regular meetings with Retail Managers to assess KPI, goal, and task performance.
- Works with sales and marketing team to help drive revenue goals and KPI objectives.
- Works with Logistics Manager to coordinate and schedule product deliveries to dispensaries to achieve monthly store goals.
- Ensures Retail Managers are overseeing proper staffing and scheduling of day-to-day duties of all dispensary employees and ensures there is a comprehensive monthly schedule inclusive of coverage to ensure business continuity across all dispensaries.
- Responsible for providing training to Retail teams as it relates to SOP’s, products, compliance, and other new hire training.
- Ensures retail teams follow all SOPs and regulatory guidelines related to all operations including cash handling and security.
- Works with local team to monitor and identify any building and maintenance issue and coordinate with vendors and staff to resolve.
- Works with Retail Managers and Sales and Marketing Coordinators to make recommendations on signage placement, following best practices and State Regulations.
- Ensures Retail Managers have a thorough understanding of corporate processes, SOP’s and training to operate effectively.
- Implements operational procedures in compliance with applicable state regulations; and ensures legislative and procedural changes relating to the sales and distribution of cannabis are clearly communicated and trained to dispensary staff.
- Ensures performance reviews and improvement plans are executed and retained in employee records.
- Addresses HR matters and employee relations issues swiftly and strategically with the HR Team.
- Supports the Retail Manager in positively addressing customer objections or issues in a professional and timely manner
- Must travel to each location bi-monthly.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in sales or business management.
Work Experience Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of sales and management experience required.
- Health care or medical marijuana industry preferred
- Successful multi-year experience in a customer service industry will be considered

Additionally, candidates who accept an offer of employment will be provided with instructions for securely submitting proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to the individual’s start date, as well as the Company’s process for requesting and completing an applicable medical or religious exemption form.
