Caravelo is a travel-tech company with a global team and roots in Barcelona.

We specialize in creating SaaS solutions for subscriptions, chatbots and tools that help airlines create a better customer experience and increase revenue.

THE MISSION

To build great quality software that contributes to the continuous improvement and evolution of Caravelo SaaS product.

As a Tech Lead, you will:

• Analyze business requirements, design technical implementations, code elegant, solid and extendable solutions.
• Improve software performance and error handling, cooperate with other developers and Operations and/or Product specialists.
• Create & distribute tasks within the team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Extend existing product lines, support new business domains, and use cases with analysis and implementation.
• Good estimation of product delivery technical requirements and efforts.
• Analyze technical implementations and create UML diagrams (use case, sequence).
• Determine project requirements and developing work schedules for the team.
• Good estimation of complexity and delivery time.
• Delegate tasks and achieving daily, weekly, and monthly goals.
• Liaise with developers, management, and clients to ensure projects are completed to standard.
• Mentor and train other developers.
• Actively participate in code reviews.
• Participate in team performance reviews along with the Director of Engineering.
• Cooperate with other tech leads and software architects in general platform architecture tasks.
• Ensure a good estimation of technical debt, detecting current debt but also when we are generating more of it.
• Actively propose improvements.
• Setup and perform UATs with clients.
• Create technical documentation both for implementation and training purposes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Proficient in object-oriented analysis and design
• Solid Java/JVM or equivalent programming skills
• At least 3+ years experience in a team lead role
• Knowledge of Airline IT (i.e. Amadeus, Navitaire, Sabre, SITA) is highly valued
• Experience with project management software and issue tracking
• Good written and verbal communication skills, English required!
• Resourceful and organized
• Ability to work independently
