The Role

Position Summary. The Director of Communications and Development is Jubilee’s chief fundraiser and leads communications and marketing for Jubilee Association of Maryland. The essence of this role is communicating Jubilee’s mission in a way that is compelling and designed to systematically sustain and grow financial and other support for Jubilee. The Director of Communications and Development is a member of Jubilee’s Executive Team.

Responsibilities

Lead a team including four other communications and development team members
Implement the Benevon fundraising model, including serving as the Jubilee’s Benevon team leader and executing Jubilee Living Our Best Lives tours (points of entry) and all follow-up activities according to the Benevon model
Articulate and support the vision, mission, goals and core values of Jubilee
Direct a comprehensive fundraising program, including donor cultivation and solicitation, annual appeals, grants, planned giving, and fundraising events
Supervise the Communications Manager and provide oversight to the organization’s communications and marketing, including monthly and quarterly newsletters, annual reports, website, and social media
Liaise with the Jubilee Association Board of Directors to sustain and build Jubilee’s network or supporters
Oversee a grants program to support Jubilee’s ongoing budgetary needs and innovative projects
Ensure that all data is appropriately captured in Jubilee’s donor database
Serve as a member of Jubilee’s Executive Team, participating in overall organizational leadership and strategy
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, advanced degree preferred
Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising and communications
Demonstrated experience in positions that require leadership skills, leading a team of direct reports, interactions with donors, and liaising with boards of directors
Experience with the Benevon fundraising model strongly preferred
Experience and high level of proficiency in donor database management; experience with Jubilee’s database software, Bloomerang, preferred
Passion for Jubilee’s mission
Demonstrated ability to manage several projects simultaneously and to work in a fast-paced and complex environment with sharp attention to detail and accuracy
Good judgment and the ability to work independently and reliably and meet deadlines with a minimum amount of supervision
Advanced written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; People-first language and thinking is essential
Spanish language fluency is a plus
Ability to interact and develop relationships with a diverse group of people in a collaborative and professional manner
Desire to work with and learn from people who have intellectual disabilities
Jubilee requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID. Requests for health and religious exemptions will be reviewed.
Jubilee's is currently operating a hybrid workplace model for most administrative roles. Candidates should live within commuting distance of our Kensington, MD office.

Salary Range. $90,000 - $100,000
