Walker SkaarThe Role
About Us
Nectar is a fast growing, Atlanta based fintech startup building the marketplace for real estate cash flow. We started by focusing on the lucrative short term rental market — providing alternative financing options for operators, and high yield, low risk investment opportunities for investors.
We’re on a mission to reinvent the real estate capital markets.
About the Role
We are currently looking for an Origination Specialist that’s skilled at analyzing large amounts of data, engaging with customers, and collaborating across departments. This person will assess the risk of potential applicants, while ensuring a seamless experience for the client and positive business outcome for us.
As the Origination Specialist, you will:
- Analyze applicant financial, operational, and credit history to determine the feasibility of credit
- Process, clean, standardize data
- Compile supporting documentation and prepare reports for investment committee review
- Correspond with applicant or other stakeholders to resolve questions regarding applicant information.
- Work closely with the Head of Underwriting to create and improve underwriting processes, and conduct risk analysis and financial modeling of past, current, and prospective cash flows
- Identify and analyze potential regulatory issues for both specific applicants and general underwriting policy
- Provide financial and underwriting data to support sales, marketing, and investor relations
Your Experience
- Strong analytical background with experience in lending, FinTech, or real estate. Preference for 2+ years of underwriting experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret profit and loss statements, bank statements, mortgage statements and other business and financial documents
- Ability to write reports and effectively present information to managers, clients, and team members.
- Proficient in Google Sheets / Excel. Must know basic formulas and calculations.
- Experience executing on a sales process
Note: we don’t expect anyone to check every box. If you feel you meet most of the criteria and you are excited about the role, we encourage you to apply.
Who You Are
- You nail the details — nothing gets past you. You’re not overwhelmed by complexity and large data sets. You actually enjoy them! The little things matter a ton for our business, and you are great at the little things.
- You are an analytical problem solver — you are objective and logical in your approach. When faced with a problem, you instinctively understand the best way to approach it, and you can logically explain your solutions to others.
- You’re a team player — we’re an early stage startup. Everyone has to pitch in and cover their responsibilities. We all support and depend on each other. You will be a key contributor and important piece in determining business and customer outcomes.
Compensation
Our offer will be commensurate with experience. A general range is between $45,000 and $65,000 and inclusion in our profit sharing plan.
Benefits
- Revenue Sharing
- Full healthcare — health, vision, and dental
- Unlimited PTO plus paid holidays
- Office with snacks and coffee, plus free team social events
- Destination team retreats
- Paid maternity and paternity leave
- Annual “work-cation” stipend to work from a destination for a week
- Opportunity for rapid advancement at a fast growing startup — possible paths include: Data Analytics, Sales, and Portfolio Management
Location
This job is based in Atlanta, and would require relocation if not already local to Atlanta. Our team currently works a hybrid in office/remote schedule.
A Welcoming Place for All
Nectar strives to nurture a welcoming culture of shared values and radical candor for everyone. We welcome all applicants, regardless of background, to submit an application.
