The Role

Company: Electric Vehicle

Opportunity: The above client is looking for a Lead Test Equipment Design Engineer to join the testing team and lead the design of hardware related to validation and verification testing for flight critical systems of a new electric aircraft.

Requirements: You have 6+ years experience as a Design Engineer who has lead integration of hardware designs of critical components and system design.

Requirements

Core responsibilities

  • Coordinate manufacturing with suppliers to create BOMs, drawing packages, and assembly packages
  • Design hardware to perform validation and verification testing and work closely with various engineering teams
  • Manage the integration of system level design and make modifications as necessary to hardware for assembly, installation, and testing
  • Lead the project management of the integration and testing design team to meet deadline requirements
  • Proficiency using CAD software, and engineering drawing creation (CATIA V5/V6, Solidworks, Siemens NX, Creo)

Required

  • M.S. in Electrical, Power Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in Computer Aided Design, engineering drawing, and electrical schematic creation
  • Experience designing and integrating electrical systems for industrial process or test equipment (single and 3-phase, high and low voltage systems)
  • Experience in control and grounding schemes, as well as large-scale integrated electrical systems.
  • Experience in designing gaseous and liquid process equipment, pressure vessels, and associated thermal management and transportation systems.

Ideal candidate

  • PhD in relevant discipline
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with machining and working in a machine shop
  • Experience wiring industrial style equipment and the experience with e-boxes to NFPA standards
  • Experience with Solidworks, CATIA (V5 / 3DX), AutoCad Electrical
  • Experience with Aerospace testing or test equipment design
  • Experience designing automated hardware, including sensor selection and implementation
  • Experience with PLC programming and controller development for industrial equipment (Beckhoff, Matlab System Modelling, Speedgoat or National Instruments Labview)
  • Hardware in the loop testing experience
  • Experience with high voltage systems
  • Understanding of aircraft FAA certification processes
