Senior UX/UI Designer

As a Senior UX/UI Designer at Convey, you will tap into your deep creativity to make impactful, user-friendly experiences for both public and private sector clients. We are a growing agency, so you will need to be highly organized, responsible, and move quickly within the evolving environment. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, project managers, developers, and graphic designers. You’ll anticipate client needs, champion the user, and turn creative ideas into elegant solutions. You should have a mixture of research and design experience, understanding that design is as much about how things work as how they look.

*You will… *

• Lead designs on projects, occasionally alongside other internal or external designers
• Participate in discovery, design, and implementation phases of projects large and small
• Ensure design objectives are well-documented and implemented successfully
• Interview stakeholders, facilitate or co-manage usability tests/audits, develop wireframes
• Build and test prototypes or create visual identity systems
• Work with project management to codify and implement streamlined design processes**

You must have...

• 5+ years design experience
• A portfolio demonstrating process and final deliverables
• Proficiency with Adobe CS design tools
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• The ability to effectively set and manage goals for turnaround time on creative tasks
• Experience working occasionally with non-digital projects and printed materials
• Excellence in: UI/interaction design, UX research/design, component-based design systems, information architecture

It’d be great if you had...

• Proficiency working with Figma
• Experience working with WordPress and Drupal
• Experience with Google Analytics and tools like Hotjar
• Experience creating custom PowerPoint or Word templates
• Experience working in a fast-paced creative agency
• Examples of data visualization, mapping, and/or accessible designs that meet WCAG level AA+ standards

This is a full-time role. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Convey offers PTO, sick leave, 401K, QSEHRA medical reimbursement, and other benefits, pending eligibility. We are collaborating in-office (Emeryville) either part- or full-time in 2022, pending health mandates and directives. Legal eligibility to work in the U.S. required.
