The Role

About Fresh Equities

Fresh Equities is a high growth, fully funded, fintech startup headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. We are helping investors gain equitable access to listed capital raises. Historically when a listed company raises capital, your ability to participate is dependent on who is running the deal and your relationship to them. This means investors miss out and companies lose out.

The marketplace we've built removes the friction for investors to discover and access these capital events and gives companies greater control over participation and transparency. Since launching in late 2018, we've uncovered more than $500m of investor demand into over 1,000 capital raises.

Our team is our most valuable asset. We invest a lot of time, resources and care into fostering a world-class culture. We wouldn’t be where we are today without the ideas and initiatives undertaken by our team, we don’t just seek input, we thrive off it. To be a Freshie (our colloquial name for Fresh employees) means to be collaborative, hard-working, transparent and fair.

About the opportunity

This role will be joining the Amplify squad, focused on reducing the friction for companies to engage their shareholders at scale. We've found that the best capital raises are the result of a company engaging with new and existing shareholders 365 days a year. As the retail investor market has boomed over Covid and new investment opportunities have exploded, it has never been more important or difficult for companies to build an investor community.

About the role

The Corporate Associate will serve as the “tip of the spear” for the Amplify team, tasked with providing support and advice for our corporate clients and contributing to the overall commercial strategy for the team.

We are more Silicon Valley than Wall Street, this role is not suitable for someone looking for a traditional financial services career.

In this role, you will be required to:

Promote the advantages of using the Amplify platform and ensure our client base is utilising it in the most effective way.
Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ needs through direct communication with company executives including surveys, feedback sessions etc.
Work closely with our Equities division to support the capital raising needs of our clients.
Be a close point of contact for solving client issues relating to the use of our platform and their broader market engagement strategies. This may include:
Preparing investor presentation materials, statements to the market and providing general market insights
Development of strategies to engage retail and institutional investors
Q&A documents to help prepare management and/or the Board for investor questions
Overseeing the preparation and distribution of EDM’s, newsletters, social media posts, quarterly reports, and emails to investors as required

About you

You are passionate about capital markets and excited by the prospect of reshaping the industry through technology.

A highly collaborative person, you enjoy working on problems with a team rather than on your own. You are comfortable operating in an environment with high uncertainty, as you are used to being the person who has to come up with the plan.

What we are looking for:

Able to work full-time in our Melbourne CBD office.
2+ years experience in investor relations advisory for listed companies or a fast-growing fintech company.
A desire to work in a genuine fast paced start-up environment. We are not a traditional financial services firm.
An entrepreneurial spirit that allows you to develop creative solutions to problems and execute on them.
A genuine hunger to learn and develop.
Ability to work under pressure and proactively prioritise responsibilities.
Very strong communications skills (verbal and written).

P.S. Attention to detail is an important attribute for the successful candidate. If you’re reading this please include an answer to the following question in your cover letter - “What is a placement?”.

Please note: LinkedIn doesn’t allow you to attach multiple files to your application. We ask that you please combine your cover letter and CV into one document. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered.

If this job sounds like what you want to do but you're not sure if you tick all the boxes, please reach out. We believe it's more important to find the right people at Fresh, rather than the right resume. Diversity of thought, background, and approach are all essential ingredients for an amazing outcome. Just let us know what it is you think you can bring to the role and the team and why you’re excited to join in.
