Engineering Manager

We’re looking for an experienced engineering manager who has been managing engineering teams successfully before and has the desire to join us on our journey to become a successful international scale-up.

For us, the engineering manager is first and foremost a people role. You will not be expected to touch the codebase on a regular basis - your key mission is to be there for your teams, but also be a strong communicator to stakeholders in connected parts of the business. This means you will have strong working relationships with product managers, your colleagues in engineering leadership - and of course your team and their leads.

We expect you to be an expert when it comes to hiring and building successful teams, as well as finding and attracting the right talent to Worksome.

The engineering manager is still a technical profile, as you are expected to facilitate technology and architectural discussions across teams as well as support your team in solving complex problems.

• Work closely with the development team and product managers to come up with ideal solutions to current challenges
• Build and maintain high-performance teams through hiring for the future, both with technology and culture in mind
• Focus on and nurture the personal and professional development of the engineers reporting to you
• Improve and build new processes to enable your teams to achieve their goals and impact productivity and efficiency
• Involve yourself in team planning, make sure teams are aligned and are working towards and are achieving their goals
• Collaborate with your team as well as other stakeholders and make sure expectations are set and met across the organization

About you

• 2+ years of relevant engineering management experience
• Experience as a technology professional, preferably from the SaaS industry
• Experience building high-performance teams through both hiring and professional development
• Track record of recruiting and retaining software engineering talent
• Experience building an engineering culture that empowers teams to build great products
• Experience with scalable microservice architecture
• Refined prioritization skills - able to focus your time and energy where it’ll have the most impact
• Collaborative, upbeat work ethic where you can take ownership and have fun
