The Role

Assists with the administration and installation of network equipment. Engages in regular
network troubleshooting activities to resolve network connectivity issues. Provides
advanced support for Field Crews and Tech Support Staff.

  1. Assists in the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance of network systems (routers,switches,wireless bridges, wireless access points).
  2. Ensures optimal availability, stability, and response time for the network services.
  3. Respond to network health and monitoring alert systems and perform regular radio/network tests to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Perform on-site equipment installation and maintenance when required.
  5. Assists in the implementation of system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of network systems.
  6. Ensures system procedures, policies, and events are documented and implemented.
  7. Manages system backup and restore testing processes.
  8. Maintain and report progress weekly on all assigned special projects.
  9. Analyzes and resolves system/network issues and needs.
  10. Assist in on-call rotation for network operations monitoring.
  11. Perform network administrator duties in absence of Director of Network Operations. Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Four (4) years of experience with network installation and administration. Four (4) years of
experience in wireless Internet Service Provider industry. MTCNA, MTCRE (mikrotik) or
CCNA, CCNP (cisco) certificatioin preferred.

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have very strong computer hardware
and software skills.
