SR. SOFTWARE ENGINEER

As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will coordinate and collaborate with other AIKO engineers to design and build future software solutions that will make space missions autonomous. You will be in charge of the whole lifecycle of the software you manage, including planning, development, testing, and maintenance.

You are the engineer on whom other engineers can rely; you are technical, you approach every challenge with zeal, and you remove roadblocks. You are a self-starter, a team player, and you have a strong desire to explore uncharted territory and make the software work.

You will take full ownership of unique challenges, collaborating with a team of motivated engineers to design and deliver solutions that will allow AIKO to move quickly toward our goals. The software that you and your team develop is critical to the success of AIKO missions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop highly reliable software solutions and autonomous software systems
Guide the team during architecture, design, and code reviews
Seek out faults within our software products and implement solutions to improve
Build prototypes to prove out key design concepts and quantify technical constraints
Perform performance analysis for the code developed by the company
Help the company improve in its methodologies, approaches and infrastructure related to software development
Push for continuous improvement in the company and a positive attitude towards growth and change.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Master of Science in one of the following disciplines: Computer Sciences, Engineering or similar.
5+ years of rigorous experience with Python/C++
Understanding and competence in the full software cycle (design, development, debugging, performance optimization, unit testing, deployment)
Extensive knowledge of Linux OS
Strong mindset towards software quality
Fluency in English

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

GitHub (or other providers) repo to demonstrate your passion and proactivity in software development
Expertise in designing software systems
Expertise in testing and infrastructure
Experience with Agile software development techniques, test-driven development, and continuous integration
Ability to work well in an integrated collaborative team environment, including frequent interactions with technicians, other engineers, and managers
Significant understanding of embedded software principles and ability to contribute in design sessions
