Are you ready to make an impact?

We’re seeking to hire an experienced, enthusiastic and passionate Quality Assurance Engineer to help improve our testing and automation practices. This role has plenty of room for growth and the chance to make a huge impact very soon after arriving. You will be responsible for designing, implementing and automating new testing and quality assurance standards at the company. There is even the possibility to expand into a broader devops role over time, in line with your interests.

We are based in Brisbane, Queensland, remote candidates will be considered if they are willing to relocate to Brisbane (COVID-permitting).

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Design, write and execute test plans and scripts based on User Stories and the direction of the product owners.
• Research, implement and maintain automated system, integration and regression testing throughout the application.
• Research, implement and maintain continuous integration/delivery best practices for the application.
• Perform manual testing of new features where automated testing cannot successfully cover all scenarios.
• Contribute to the maintenance and creation of high quality software development tickets with testable outcomes (in particular by helping to write acceptance criteria for User Stories).
• Collaborate with developers to test and confirm new features have satisfied all acceptance criteria before they are shipped.
• Identify, report, and manage defects.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

• A passion for software quality assurance, testing and automation.
• Excellent foundational knowledge of testing methodologies and how to create a comprehensive test plan for a live, fast-growing product.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a software testing or devops role.
• Experience working in a team using version control and issue tracking software.
• Enthusiasm and the ability to wear many hats in a fast-growing startup.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• An undergraduate degree in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar.

It would also be beneficial if you are able to demonstrate:

• Experience with automated testing and monitoring tools (especially Data Dog, Cypress or Bitbucket Pipelines).
• Experience writing unit tests (especially in Python/Django).
• Experience testing cross-platform products, including native mobile and web apps – both front and backend.
• Experience with containerization, continuous delivery and continuous integration platforms (such as Docker, Docker Swarm, and Google Cloud Platform).
• Experience with Jira, Trello or similar.
• Experience with Bitbucket, GitHub and Git or similar.
• Familiarity with the cryptocurrency space.
