To match Digital Surge’s growth with the explosive growth of the crypto space, we are looking for an experienced Senior Python/Django Developer to join our growing team. The company is based in Brisbane, Queensland, remote candidates will be considered if they are willing to relocate to Brisbane (COVID-permitting)

About You

Our ideal candidate will have a strong grounding in computer science and system design, including concurrency, data structures, solution design and cyber security best practices.

You will be able to work effectively in a team and have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Essential Criteria:

• Computer Science or IT Degree
• 5+ years of professional software development experience, with 3+ years' experience in writing high-performance production quality code in Python / Django
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ & Celery
• Experience working with Docker containers
• Broad knowledge of cloud, networking and OS (Linux) concepts, services and best practices

Candidates with experience in the following will be highly regarded: Websockets, Cryptocurrency trading & Python asyncio

What you will be doing

• You will work closely with the CTO and other developers on architecting and designing our systems to help scale and support tens of thousands of users.
• Working on implementing new features and fixing bugs
• Mentor and provide guidance to other developers & ensure that high standards are met and best practices are adopted within the team
