The Role

LABonWEB is an entrepreneurial technology company based in Toronto, Canada. With expertise garnered through 15 years of scientific research and software development, our software team develops a software platform to provide a conducive learning environment in laboratory sessions for students of applied science programs. We have managed to successfully pilot our demo for a UofT engineering course of 200 students.
We are looking for a highly motivated new grad or senior student who is experienced or interested in business development to join our team as Chief Operating Officer (COO) to help us with fund raising and other business activities.
Your Mission:
• Primary responsibility and most important mission is the perfect execution of all commercial and operational day-to-day business.
• Design and execute operational plans to maximize capacity and quality, while minimizing costs through effective utilization of capital and resources.
• Collaborate with the CEO on a broad range of strategic topics.
• Build organizational capacity and operational processes to enable rapid yet responsible growth.
Required Skills:
• Recognized leader with proven history of delivering on targets who can build a positive and supportive culture, where everyone on the team is excited to go to work and knows what they need to do to succeed
• Expert in developing and nurturing high-performance teams, metrics, and processes that deliver on business outcomes
• Strong organizational skills and ability to successfully grow and collaborate in a fast-paced growth environment
• Self-motivated true entrepreneurial spirit willing to do more with less and able to creatively problem-solve, taking on tasks yourself instead of just delegating them
• High degree of ownership and accountability, with ability to multitask effectively and remain calm under pressure
• Critical thinking and detailed problem solving, with understanding of how to simplify complexity and challenges of navigating a business through an earlier phase of lifecycle with limited resources
• Highly responsive to team needs at all times
