Lead Software Engineer (Frontend)

Carro is looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer, based out of our Singapore office to lead our team of software engineers. You will lead a multinational team of talented engineers across different locations, and be responsible for the architecture and development of our web applications. The front-end team is using a stack including ES6, React, Redux, Jest, Webpack and react-testing library.

What you will be doing:

• Leading the development and improvement of our major products, championing user engagement and satisfaction
• Partnering with Product Managers, Product Designers (UI/UX) and other stakeholders to understand our users and improve their experience with the product.
• Lead the frontend development team in developing high quality, responsive and innovative user-facing features and functionality.
• Influencing and driving engineering best practices and operational excellence for the team.

You will need:

• A Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field with at least 8 years of front-end development experience and 2 years in a lead position.
• Developed and shipped complex web applications at scale
• Experience with ES6, React, Redux, Webpack, Typescript, Storybook (or other E2E testing frameworks such as Jest, Puppeteer, Webdriverio)
• Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals. With this, you will be able to evaluate and make the informed decisions for each scenario.
• Experience in developing highly-interactive, building always-on systems, and working across a variety of technologies and service layers.
• Experience with Unit, Integration, End-to-end (E2E) testing frameworks, Docker and CI/CD, AWS
• Track record of leading engineers (min team size of 10 engineers) with a wide range of experience, while remaining hands-on and helping the team to meet project deadlines, and delivering world-class web applications.
