Software Engineer: Photonics Software

As Software developer your primary responsibility will be leading PlanOpSim’s software development both as an active developer, coaching junior developers, and coordinating development with external freelancers.
You will coordinate the efforts of your colleagues by functional analysis of additional features, translating them into clear task descriptions for the software development team. Assess the impact of implementation choices on software performance and provide clear guidelines to the product owner on the impact of new developments. Regularly you will also do implementation yourself.
You will set up and ensure adherence to robust and high quality software development practices in terms of deployment, quality assurance and documentation.

Typical tasks will include:

• Analysing functional requirements and outlining implementation effort.
• Coordinating workload between the development team
• Coaching junior software engineers
• Implementing CI/CD pipelines for software deployment and quality assurance Depending on your interest, tasks like coaching clients towards the highest level of comfort and efficiency when using our software or exploring new business opportunities for PlanOpSim can also be taken up.
