Overview:
As a business development manager, you'll identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. Your work can involve careful strategic planning and positioning in the appropriate markets, or enhancing the operation of the business, position or reputation in some way. You may have a single role in the organisation or lead a team of staff. Your work will often reach across all areas of the business.
Designation: Business Development Manager
Experience: 3+ years' relevant work experience (Edtech Industry preferred)
Job Location: Bangalore/Bhubaneswar

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • research and identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products and services - or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • seek out the appropriate contact in an organisation
  • generate leads and cold call prospective customers(Students and colleges)
  • meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone
  • foster and develop relationships with customers/clients
  • understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
  • work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
  • have a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them
  • train members of your team, arranging external training where appropriate
  • discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
  • seek ways of improving the way the business operates
  • attend seminars, conferences and events where appropriate
  • help to plan sales campaigns, create a sales pipeline
  • negotiate pricing with customers, and suppliers in some cases
  • increase sales of the business
  • carry out sales forecasts and analysis and present your findings to senior management
  • Collating and maintaining student information in the Excel/CRM database.
  • Deliver exceptional sales pitches and presentations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet given deadlines and reach assigned monthly sales targets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Business Management, Marketing, or related field.
  • 3+ years' relevant work experience in business development or similar field preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly and personable demeanor.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tool( Freshworks is an added advantage)
  • Experience in Ed-tech industry preferred

Salary

  • Annual salary 5,50,000LPA - 6,20,000LPA
  • Salary mentioned above will have deductions such as ESI, TDS etc. as per government regulations. In hand, the salary after deductions will be lower than the salary. Detailed salary breakup is provided along with the offer letter.
  • Annual incentive/bonus based on your performance.
