Job Description: Controller (Full Time Temp to Hire)
At Aria Pharmaceuticals, we use artificial intelligence to discover lifesaving medicines at blazing speed. We are seeking a controller to manage all aspects of our accounting and finance function. In addition to maintaining the books and records of the company, preparing monthly financial statements and processing bills, s/he also be working closely with executive management on budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and analysis. This is an individual contributor full time temp hire to start with the potential to convert to a permanent hire with reports.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare monthly financial statements, reporting packages and other reports, ensuring their accuracy, timeliness and compliance with GAAP.
• Coordinate and/or assist in preparation of annual budget, and quarterly and monthly internal reporting of actual and forecasted results.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and daily cash postings
• Prepare journal entries and assist in account reconciliations
• Oversee accounts payable and day-to-day accounting
• Ensure proper processing of expense reimbursement requests
• Manage payroll process and ensure proper financial reporting of payroll.
• Maintain all aspects of the general ledger and perform account reconciliation and analysis as required.
• Help ensure that internal controls are operating as designed
• Work with executive management to generate both short term and long-term financial forecasts.
• Respond to internal and external audit requests, as required
• Perform financial statement analysis, as needed.
• Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of business
• Understand the financials of the company in order to meet legal requirements and keep the financial state in good standing
• Assist in special projects as needed

Requirements:
• Candidates with experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
• High attention to detail and deadlines.
• Strong technical background and knowledge base of all aspects of GAAP.
• Solid written and verbal communication, analytical and management skills.
• Knowledge of the QuickBooks accounting system
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)

Qualifications
• BS in Accounting and/or CPA - preferred.
• 8 plus years of combined public, industry and management experience.
