Job Description
The City Manager is the leader of Motor in Indianapolis, growing the adoption of electric vehicles in the region. You will be responsible for business development, establishing partnerships with businesses, building managers, developers, and advocacy groups to support the growth of Motor’s membership. You will be the public face of Motor in Indianapolis, and work directly with our members to ensure they are thrilled with the service and the electric vehicle lifestyle. You will be growing in this early-stage startup with support from Motor’s headquarters in the Washington, D.C. region. The focus of this role is on the member side of the business, as well as managing the Fleet Operations Associate who handles the majority of the vehicle operations side.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Indianapolis location of Motor, including P&L management and local growth initiatives
• Build brand awareness for Motor through partnerships and identifying and developing opportunities to grow membership
• Manage the Fleet Operations Associate and the relationships with contractors, vendors and partners in the Indianapolis region
• Manage local communications platforms and write periodic content for members, newsletters, and blog posts
• Execute member retention strategies to check in with existing members and ensure they are thrilled with the service and find ways to get there if they are not
• Work with the Member Success Associate, who is responsible for centralized member services on day-to-day issues, on ensuring new members are able to easily brought on board and satisfied with the service
• Become an personable resource for members and partners on electric vehicles and consumer charging technologies
  
• Assist Fleet Operations and Member Success and as a local backup  to their work when needed
• Help grow the adoption of electric vehicles in Indianapolis!

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Three years relevant work experience with electric vehicles, vehicle subscriptions, carsharing, shared mobility services, or related field
• Experience managing strategic business relationships, from engagement through account management
• Valid driver license and two years of driving experience with a clean driving record 
• Strong presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a “make it happen” attitude with an intellectual curiosity to seek new opportunities and ability to quickly learn new areas of interest
• Excited to grow in a fast-paced startup
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to execute on a number of projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
